DHS wastes your money and they don’t care

According to one study, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) wastes taxpayer dollars like they are going out of style. Clink on the links in the previous sentence to learn more about past wastes.
The wastes that are spoken of in this article come from book, yes book, that the DHS deems necessary for students of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center should have. But they should have them at YOUR expense, not the agency that sent them. They could have visited Amazon.com and saved over 600 bucks of YOUR money, but they didn’t. They know better and yet they refuse to be frugal with such a precious resource.
Below you will find the book that FLETC demands of the students, and their costs:

However, the source that they use, AVANTI ENTERPRISES, INC was awarded the contact over 600 bucks above the costs that Amazon.com charges. Look at the ISBN number, compare them against Avanti’s award of $21,143.
And according to the terms of the contact, shipping is FBO – Free on board.
The Department of Homeland Security spends money like it’s going out of style on frivolous items, and very rarely on important items like food and shelter for an emergency.
But that is what happens when you have a tyrannical government. The agencies that send the participants to FLETC could have found the neceesary funds in their discretionary or petty cash budget, budget, but they insist on having YOU the tax payer pay the full costs.
This sort of mismanagement will only end when you scream, ENOUGH. I’m not paying anymore.
What should you do?
Vote on 6 November 2012. And vote your conscience. No one else, only yours. You still are free, so do the right thing.
