Another company has taken a public stance against the 2nd Amendment as Groupon, the online deal-of-the-day website offering bargains on trips, restaurants and much more has cancelled all gun-related deals after the school shooting at Sandy Hook. A Boycott against Groupon has been launched by 2nd Amendment supporters. Has Groupon taken this stance to prepare for a new, upcoming Super Bowl Ad? From The Business Insider:
Groupon has canceled, at least temporarily, all of its scheduled and ongoing gun-related promotions, Matt Brownell at Aol Daily Finance reported. “All scheduled and current gun-related deals featured on Groupon North America, including shooting ranges, conceal-and-carry and clay shooting, have been placed on hiatus while we review internal standards that shape the deal inventory we feature,” a Groupon spokesperson told Daily Finance.
Groupon has also been quite involved running Super Bowl ads in the past. Is Groupon taking this anti-gun stance because they are preparing to run a new Super Bowl ad in two weeks? The video below was published on Jan 18, 2013 by CNNMoneyTech.
