This is NOAA 8pm (EST) update on Hurricane Sandy.

The Hurricane is located about 395 miles SSE of Charleston, South Carolina and is heading north (10 degrees) at 7mph.

Tropical Storm watches and warnings are in affect from Florida to North Carolina.

Forecasts are predicting a possible landfall in southern New Jersey.

State and Federal Emergency Operational Centers and deployment teams are being placed on standby or activation
